The Learn to Race Program develops skills that will allow kids to learn what ski racing is all about. Skiers learn through directed free-skiing and drills that teach racing basics. Skiers meet every Saturday. Coaches have race experience.
Learn to race participants have mastered basic skills, are confident skiing at speeds on intermediate runs, and have an interest in learing to run gates. By the end of the program, participants will understand course terminology (e.g., delay, flush, slalom, etc.), and can maneuver gates using basic racing techniques. Participants may also learn to wax and tune skis. Requires USSA registration to participate in USSA sanctioned races.
